I. Before You Begin:
1. This will void the warranty of your
device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device
if there’s any unrooting procedure available.
2. You should have MediaTek drivers installed on your PC. If you don’t, get them from
here.
3. This should work only on Windows based PCs.
II. Downloading Required Files:

SP Flash Tool (Download link’s given at the bottom of the first post)

Superuser (Download link’s given at the bottom of the first post)

SU (Download link’s given at the bottom of the first post)
III. Flashing a Custom Recovery on the LAVA Iris 455:
1. Download and place all the files onto your Desktop.
2. Extract files from the SP Flash Tool archive over to your Desktop.
3. Rename the CWM Recovery Image to recovery.img.
4. Double-click on the SP Flash Tool executable file and it’ll open.
5. Click on Scatter-loading and choose the Scatter file you downloaded earlier to your Desktop.
6. Checkmark the RECOVERY box only among all other boxes.
7. Hit the Download button.
8. You’ll see a warning message on your screen saying that not all images are correctly loaded. Simply ignore it and hit Yes.
9. Turn OFF your device.
10. Pull the battery out of your device and put it back in after 4-5 seconds.
11. Without turning ON your device, plug in your device to your PC via USB cable.
12. It’ll begin flashing the CWM Recovery on your device and should be done within a couple of minutes.
13. Once the flashing’s done, reboot your device.
14. And you’re done!
Great! You’ve successfully flashed the CWM Recovery on your LAVA Iris 455, let’s root that beast now!
IV. Rooting the LAVA Iris 455:
1. Ensure that your device is connected to your PC and is turned ON.
2. Copy the Superuser as well as SU archives over to your SD card.
3. Once both the archives have been copied, unplug your device from your PC.
4. Turn OFF your device.
5. Turn it back on by holding down Volume UP+Power buttons together.
6. You should now be in the CWM Recovery mode.
7. Once there, select install zip from sdcard followed by choose zip from sdcard.
8. Choose the Superuser zip to be flashed on your device.
9. And it’ll begin flashing the zip on your device.
10. Once it’s been flashed, flash the SU zip as well using same steps mentioned above.
11. Once both the ZIPs have been flashed, reboot your device.
12. And you’re all done!
Excellent! Your device’s been
successfully rooted and is equipped with a custom recovery to help you
flash third-part ROMs and Mods!
